Blue Lock
This show is definitely my favorite of the animes I have watched. I never really watched anime growing up, so I cannot say I have a true scope of "good" anime. I thought the premise of Japan wanting to make a true "egoist" striker. I thought this was a very interesting perspective especially with the state of Japanese Soccer. It does seem to be the case that Japan has never truly had a "nothing is getting in my way and I'm scoring" type of guy. Perhaps this is due to more of a collectivist culture. That is why I liked this anime, sports are a representation of who we are and what we value. Sports aren't just an activity you participate in for fun. Sports is like art in the sense that participating in your style is an honest expression of oneself. There were many words that I recognized. サッカー、せんしゅ、しあい、むずかしい、見る、いく、くる are some of the words I instantly recognized in the first episode. Even many of the simple sentences were easy to understand.
